LeeAnn McEdwards Moss
LeeAnn Moss has exceptional experience in the valuation and sale of agricultural real estate and she is a co-founder and co-owner of The Loranda Group. An economist, real estate broker, auctioneer and appraiser, LeeAnn has more than 30 years of experience in the marketing and valuation of real property assets, including the sale of thousands of acres of real estate via the public auction, sealed bid, and brokerage methods of sale. She is an award-winning writer, speaker and educator on issues relating to real estate and agribusiness.
Throughout her career, LeeAnn has worked for the food division of a large consumer products company, a national agricultural asset management firm, an auction joint venture that pioneered the multi-parcel method of sale, and in several teaching and research positions in academia. In 1994, LeeAnn and John formed The Loranda Group, Inc. to assist clients with agricultural real estate sales, acquisitions and consulting across the Midwest. Having performed quality appraisal work for financial institutions, attorneys, corporations, landowners and investors, LeeAnn is also the founder and President of Novalis, Inc., an education and consulting company serving professionals in the real estate industry and small business managers across the country.
She earned a Doctorate in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. LeeAnn is an instructor with the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois, and an Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) Certified USPAP Instructor who teaches appraisal standards across the country. She is a licensed auctioneer and real estate broker, and a member of all prominent appraisal and real estate trade associations. An Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) with the ASFMRA and an Illinois Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, LeeAnn also has been awarded the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation from the Realtors Land Institute. She is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, and is a graduate of the Missouri Auction School.
In 2011, LeeAnn was appointed by Governor Quinn to serve on the Illinois Appraisal Administration and Disciplinary Board for a 4-year term. From 2012 to 2015, she served in a leadership position with the ASFMRA’s Executive Council as Academic Vice President. She also served on the Appraisal Education and Accreditation Committee and has been an instructor for the organization since 1998, developing and teaching a variety of appraisal courses and seminars at both the chapter and national level. In 2014, LeeAnn was appointed by ASC Chairman Arthur Lindo to serve as an appraiser representative on the Appraisal Subcommittee Advisory Committee for Development of Regulations for a two-year term. LeeAnn was most recently named to the Hall of Fame of the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA) at the organization's 2017 annual meeting. The Hall of Fame is the highest citation bestowed upon members, who are professionals dedicated to agricultural consulting and the management and appraisal of rural property.
